I started this book without any expectations, but I was pleasently surprised by the depth of the characters, how dark this book got and how desperatly I wanted to read through the whole thing. The two narrators Sloan and Courtland (they alternate) also were very believable, at times I did not understand Sloan's actions, but it always felt true to the character. But I believed the author, that this town and its population could indeed be a real town. I don't want to take away much of the story, I think part of what makes this book really good is figuring out what is happening, especially at the start. I'm not good at writing reviews, but I'm going to try anyways, because I think this book deserves a lot more attention and I don't think the description is very descriptive.
